WEB DESIGN
The reason why 80% of marketers use websites in their marketing strategies
Two billion! This is the approximate number of websites that constitute the infinite place of the Internet, according to the latest statistics.

In reality, the websites that function properly are much less and those that bear fruit to the business even fewer. That can occur for a variety of reasons such as poor design, lack of strategy, lack of awareness of a website’s potential on part of the business owner etc.
That being said, recent statistics show that your website continues to be valuable for your online presence, as long as you take advantage of its immense potential. Even amongst two billion competitors, as long as you make it stand out!
Your website is the extension of your workplace
By the time you are reading this article, the following numbers will have probably been increased. Until recently, 59% of the world’s population was online for 7 hours, on average, daily. And 92% of those were connecting online via their mobile phone.
In simple terms, the odds of a potential client visiting your website are much more than visiting your store. Would you want your store’s visitors to leave with a bad impression of your space? The answer is obviously «No». However, how many businesses pay as much attention to their website as they do their store or office?
In simple terms, the odds of a potential client visiting your website are much more than visiting your store
Probably not many. Especially if we take into account the fact that 23% of small and medium-sized businesses don’t even have a website!
A well-designed website influences your audience positively
We currently design online experiences, able to satisfy the user’s needs and create an interest in coming back. In modern web design we don’t just aim for visual appeal, but foremost for excellent user experience (UX).
A clear example of “unpleasant” UX is the slow loading time. For the majority of web designers (88.5%), slow website speed is the number one reason that users leave before a page even loads. The same users agree on that in a percentage of 42%, while 50% say they give a second chance, by refreshing the page at least once.
The concerning part, though, is that 70% of the consumers strictly highlight that the odds of them buying a business’ products decrease the slower its website is.
Besides slow speed, there are other reasons that may drive the users away from your website, such as outdated design, confusing navigation, poor content organization and non-responsive design that does not allow your website to operate properly on all screens. In all cases, the common denominator is a bad user experience.
Your website is a valuable marketing tool
In the constantly evolving field of digital marketing, social media is currently the number one tool. Nevertheless, the websites maintain the second place. It is no coincidence that 80% of the marketing experts always include website design in a business’ strategy planning.
That happens because many of the KPIs that we take into account when estimating a marketing strategy’s efficacy, have to do with the interaction between the audience and a website or e-shop. Metrics such as online sales, website traffic, lead generation, the average time per session and ranking, help evaluate and improve the strategy.
Therefore, neglecting your website, a tool so powerful for your online presence, is a mistake. And it seems that the majority of marketing experts also strongly disapprove of this practice.
Besides, the numbers are clear. The more people go online, the more important it will be to have an impactful online presence and an effective digital marketing strategy. In order to achieve that, it is necessary to have a fully accessible and a perfectly functional website.
At MDesigners we believe in open communication between clients and designers, aiming at creating visual experiences that will move and inspire their audience.
